Locate the file that was downloaded on your device. You will see Thank you for downloading LockDown Browser and the file name. If having problems downloading to a Mac, use the Chrome browser to download.

This Knowledge Article will show how to download and install the Respondus LockDown Browser.įind the Respondus LockDown Browser module on the Blackboard page once you login. Once it is installed, you do not have to install it again for a different assessment. You will only need to use this browser to login to Blackboard when taking an assessment that uses the LockDown Browser.

Once installed, you will use this application to login to Blackboard whenever you take an assessment that uses the LockDown Browser. Students will need to download and install the LockDown browser onto your device in order to access assessments that use the LockDown Browser. When the LockDown Browser is applied, students will be unable to print, capture screen content, go to URL's or access other applications while taking assessments. The chat link is available within the Help Center in Lockdown Browser.Faculty have the option of applying the Respondus LockDown Browser to assessments given in Blackboard. Additionally, 24/7 chat-based support is available for students when testing using Monitor. Respondus provides knowledge-base and ticket-based support for faculty and students.

Respondus browser Offline#
Exams can be created offline using a familiar Windows environment, or moved from one LMS to another. Respondus 4.0 is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Canvas. Lab Administrators may submit a Service Now request for CDE to obtain the most recent version. Lab EditionĪ special version of Lockdown Browser is available for use in computer lab settings. To install the new extension to a student-owned Chromebook, students will need to use the regular LockDown Browser installation link for UTA (they will NOT be able to search for the app directly from the Chrome web store.) The LockDown Browser installation link will direct students to the Chrome web store, at which point they should select “Add to Chrome” to install the LockDown Browser Extension. Students may download Lockdown Browser for their personal computers using UTA's unique link.

Students are required to download and install Lockdown Browser on their personal computers. Instructors may review Monitor videos following student exams. Monitor requires students use a webcam to record their testing session.

Monitor is an additional feature that may be used in conjunction with Lockdown Browser. Lockdown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment in Canvas.
